After a triumphant return to ABC's schedules, another new Desperate Housewives episodes airs this Sunday on ABC.
"There Won't be Trumpets" will air on Sunday April 3 2005 at 9pm. Here are the official details:
There's a change in Mama Solis's condition; Lynette befriends a deaf woman, Alisa, whose children also attend Barcliff; Bree encounters more trouble with son Andrew; and Susan finds herself attracted to Edie's hunky new contractor.
The episode was directed by Jeff Melman—his third episode to date—and was written by Joey Murphy & John Pardee, the consulting producers' second collaboration following "Anything You Can Do".

With the new Stevens family arriving in Wisteria Lane comes a group of potentially recurring guest stars. Mother of the family Alisa Stevens, who is deaf, is played by Marlee Matlin. Matlin is deaf in real life, and is probably best known for her role as Joey Lucas in NBC's The West Wing. She also starred in Picket Fences, and has guest starred in shows such as ER and Spin City. Father of the family Dennis Stevens is played by Albie Selznick. Selznick has made guest apperances on numerous shows including Veronica Mars, all three CSI incarnations, Star Trek: Voyager and most recently 24. The daughter of the family, Lily Stevens, is played by Aria Wallace. The eight-year-old actress's appearances include The Bernie Mac Show, Judging Amy and Carnivàle.
Lupe Ontiveros returns as Juanita 'Mama' Solis. She hasn't been seen since "Suspicious Minds", eight episodes ago now. Jeff Doucette reprises his role of Father Crowley.
The episode title this week is taken from a Stephen Sondheim song that featured in the musical "Anyone Can Whistle", and in the 1964 Broadway version was sung by Lee Remick. You can read the lyrics of the song.
