Fresh from hosting a party for the launch of a basketball player's music CD, James Denton (Mike Delfino) is now moving on to a bigger project.
It was reported by Monsters and Critics that Denton will host the 2005 World Music Awards (WMAs), which will take place on August 31 at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre (which is also home to the Oscars).
Established in 1989, the WMAs honor the best-selling artists internationally. The event will air in 160 countries to over a billion viewers. The awards show will air in Ireland on September 3, in the UK on September 4, and in the US (on Desperate Housewives network ABC), Canada, Germany, Mexico, Latin America and the Middle East on September 13.
Meanwhile James Denton spoke briefly to The Seattle Times about the Desperate Housewives name. "The series has a real audacity right down to the title," said Denton. "You realize the title is as tongue-in-cheek as the show."
The news on Denton hosting the WMAs can be found here at Monsters and Critics. More details on the event are at the official World Music Awards website. The piece on the Desperate Housewives name, along with Denton's quote, can be found at The Seattle Times. Discuss this news item at Talk Desperate!
