Kevin Murphy has quashed the hope of fans who believe that Rex Van De Kamp pulled an elaborate ruse, and faked his own death.
Rex is "dead, dead, dead" co-executive producer Kevin Murphy told People (via SpoilerFix.com. Murphy hinted that we'd see him in flashbacks because "our dead characters never stay off the air for long,"but said there will be plenty of people to fill the vacuum left in Bree's life. "We'll be seeing more of George. And we're going to meet Rex's mother. She's going to lock horns with Bree."
Murphy also gave details about the various children, both present and impending, on Wisteria Lane. Andrew's rage with his mother is unlikely to go away after his sister Danielle saw her delay taking Rex to the hospital. "Sometimes he will express his rage in very inappropriate ways. We've got something big in the works for Andrew," said Murphy. And who is the father of Gabrielle's child? Murphy isn't saying. "For now, it's in her interest to let Carlos believe it's his."
If you were wondering where Zach is Mike's done, again Murphy was evasive. "We strongly implied that Mike thinks that at least. Whether that's actually true, we'll have to wait and see." John Rowland will also have to wait for news on his potential offspring. "We did two scenes explaining [why he burst into the courtroom]—ne with a happy ending for John, one without—and we decided not to run either of them until next season."
Murphy said that viewers should "keep an eye on Alfre Woodard's character" Betty Applewhite. "She came to Wisteria Lane with something to hide, and we're going to find out exactly what she's hiding in the season premiere. There's a reason they moved in the middle of the night, and there's a reason they moved themselves."
