Donna Mills, who played Abby Cunningham in Knots Landing for nine years in the 80s, is apparently being sought for a role in Desperate Housewives.

Desperate Housewives reader RexFan said the rumor was reported on Entertainment Tonight last week. If true it once again links Desperate Housewives with the Dallas spin-off. The two shows are often compared in their status of 'primetime soaps', and Nicolette Sheridan (Edie Britt) and Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) both appeared in Knots Landing.

The news comes as ET is covering an upcoming Knots Landing reunion. According to their site, CBS will be airing Knots Landing Reunion: Together Again, a look back at the show's success when it ran from 1979 to 1993. Cast will reminiscence about their time on the sets, and viewers will be given a tour of the cul-de-sac that was used in the show.

Meanwhile, E! Online said that Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) has allegedly fallen out of favour with the studio for being "difficult". Metcalfe's publicist has denied the rumors branding them "wildly inaccurate". But E! Online's source said that Metcalfe will be in fewer episodes of season two.
