Desperate Housewives laughed off any talk of declining ratings by gaining almost a million viewers compared to a few weeks ago, allowing ABC to win the night.
According to figures released by MediaWeek, "That's Good, That's Bad" scored a 17.8 rating with a 25 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 17.8% were tuned into DH, as well as 25% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm. The show pulled a 11.1/24 rating in the coveted 18–49 demographic.
Here are this week's Desperate Housewives ratings in context:
Although down on this time last year, with 25.73 million viewers the show was up against the 24.86 million viewers just a few weeks ago. Desperate Housewives lead-out Grey's Anatomy was also as strong as ever with a 14.1/21 rating, 19.77 million viewers and 9.0/21 in the 18–49 demographic.
Up against Desperate Housewives, CBS's made-for-TV movie Silver Bells did well in total viewers (16.17 million) but was weak in the 18–49 demographic (3.7/8). NBC came in third with Law & Order: Criminal Intent followed by Fox with a combination of Family Guy and American Dad and the WB with a rerun of Supernatural. Overall CBS put in a formidable performance in total viewers, but ABC's 17.88 million beat CBS's 16.47 million for the night. ABC's 7.6/17 in the 18–49 demo beat Fox's 6.2/14.
