Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis) said getting his Desperate Housewives role led to the biggest changes in his life, and talked about the need to protect his son from his fame.
"I would say, actually, [the change is] pretty recent," he told Entertainment Tonight (via a transcript at CNN. "The biggest way my life has changed is that—well, at the very beginning, you know, I was able to buy a house for myself and for my son and my family. He added that he is now going to buy a new house "because I need a little bit more privacy".
He said a more secure location was important for his son. "It's not so much for me," he said. "I really don't care. But it's more for the protection of my son, because I want to make sure that he has a private life and he has the ability to grow up like a normal little boy and not being known as this person's son."
But he acknowledged that he's not in the limelight as much as some of his colleagues, and tends to avoid the paparazzi. "I came up here to do some press for the show and stuff. And last night, I had the good fortune of being able to check out a friend's play, Patrick Wilson, who's a good friend of mine, actor."
The full transcript can be found at CNN. There is also a separate video interview at ABC News, where Chavira talked about recent stories and revealed his TV show is Desperate Housewives' lead-out Grey's Anatomy. Discuss this news item at Talk Desperate!
