Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) is used to playing a character with dubious morales when it comes to the area of relationships. So playing the title role in his first film shouldn't be too difficult for the actor.
Metcalfe has signed on to 20th Century Fox's John Tucker, according to Reuters, where he will play the serial-cheating titular character. But fed up with his ways, three ex-girlfriends plan to seek revenge by setting up him with the new girl in town so that she can then teach him a lesson by subsequently dumping him.
The film is written by Jeff Lowell, who has been a writer on TV shows such as Spin City and The Drew Carey Show. He was also a co-executive producer on Sports Night, the Aaron Sorkin show that starred Desperate Housewives' Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo). His only film credit so far is Romantic Comedy which is in pre-production.
John Tucker will be directed by Betty Thomas whose directing credits include The Brady Bunch Movie, Doctor Dolittle and I Spy.
This will be Metcalfe's first film role, although he's also signed on to star in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Aside from Desperate Housewives, his only other major role has been a five year stint in Passions as Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald.
