By Antony March 27, 2005 - 7:46 PMHello World! Everyone around me of late seems to have had some sort of bug, and I finally succumbed this weekend. So a lot of sneezing, coughing and lack of taste has been my weekend's fun.
Still, it was good timing that a friend bought me Oddworld Stranger's Wrath for my birthday. So I've stayed in bed playing on my Xbox a lot.
I had some misgivings about the game at first. Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee was such a good game, plus Stranger's Wrath seems to have nicked a lot of stuff from the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox game. And boy did that game suck. But getting into it I'm glad to say that the coolness of Much's Oddysee won out over the annoyances of Buffy.
I particularly love how quirky these worlds are, and immersive. You feel really in the middle of the story and like you have a noble purpose in them. More than that, they're just plain fun.
The XBox game I eagerly await now is Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory. It's by far my favorite game franchise on the XBox, and its sequel was a actually an improvement on its predecessor, unlike some other game franchises *cough* Halo *cough*. Sorry, the cold bug there. So roll on Chaos Theory. This time Sam has a knife! Talk Desperate! threads Below are some of the topics currently being discussed at Talk Desperate!:
