• Lindsay Soll at EW.com enjoyed the scenes in Bree's household, but was bored by the Edie/Susan rivalry:

  The war over Mike is getting a little bit old. I've had enough of watching Edie endlessly trying to sabotage Susan. Mr. Cherry, you really need to come up with a more promising story line for Nicollette, one that will let us actually root for her instead of reaching for our remotes to fast-forward through her scenes. I did like the way Susan stood up for herself at the end, though, because it's rare that she shows any backbone.

• Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online took the opposite view. "How wonderful to get some good Edie scenes tonight, and Edie was at her sabotaging best with Susan. You just knew Susan was not going to be pleased after realizing it was Edie who turned Mike against her. Yes, it was silly for Susan to have to pay someone to abduct Mike from the hospital, but can you blame her? Anything to get some quality memory-jogging time with her man. Watching Susan do her usual pratfalls, of course, made Mike start to remember her a bit, but Edie had the upper hand when Mike asked to be brought back to the hospital."

• But Jen Creer at TV Squad was annoyed by Susan, but liked Edie. "Oh my God, what did Mike ever see in Susan? Perhaps, yes, to some people, her antics might seem charming. But holy moly, did they seem anything but extremely grating to anyone? I saw a survey on the ABC Desperate Housewives site: Should Susan move on or should she never give up on Mike? Move on, Baby. There's always (gulp) Ian. And boy, I like Edie better every single time I see this show. I hope she does get Mike-—at least until I find out a reason why she shouldn't have him."

  Jeff Commings at AZNightBuzz.com said "Nicollete Sheridan has to be happy these days. Because [Edie's] now the apple of Mike's life, she has a bigger presence on the show than ever. And I can't imagine that wearing short shorts and size-1 tops has any effect on Mike. I'm sure he likes Edie for what's on the inside. Hmmm. What is on the inside? I don't think many people can get past the push-up bras and midriffs to get to know her."
