Following ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson's comments that Desperate Housewives' second season started off poorly, Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) defended the writing quality of the show.
"I really liked the first couple of episodes," said Longoria, according to CANOE. "Our ratings were higher than ever this season, way higher than last year." Desperate Housewives, unlike some other shows, also didn't leave its viewers dangling, she argued. "On most shows, you have to wait years to find out who murdered Mary Alice, or those kind of mysteries."
She did admit that some storylines weren't to her liking, but put that down to the sheer amount of plots the show tackles and he commended Marc Cherry who "is really great at getting the story done and tying up loose ends."
Longoria has also denied the latest tabloid rumors, this time whispering that she is dating Jamie Foxx. According to LA Daily News, Longoria's boyfriend Tony Parker and Foxx are good friends, and they will be producing an album together. Parker also encouraged Longoria to appear in Foxx's video. "Jamie called Tony and asked if I could be in his video," said Longoria. "I was like, 'I can't be in Jamie's video,' and he's like, 'Babe, you have to do Jamie's video.' And I had fun doing it."
Parker has also gone in front of the camera, and appeared on Oprah with Longoria, reported MySA.com. "I'm doing this more for Eva," said Parker. "I know it's a big thing for her, and she really loves Oprah [Winfrey]. It's a good experience for me. I'll just enjoy myself and support Eva."
