Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has said that he is interested in giving a role to actress and winner of Dancing With the Stars Kelly Monaco.
Cherry told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush that he would "not be out of [his] mind" to think that Monaco could appear on Desperate Housewives. "I thought she did an amazing job dancing on that big finale," he said. "I think she's great. I haven't started to think of how to fit her into Wisteria Lane, but she's awfully talented." Monaco further fueled the possibility of a visit to Wisteria Lane. "We'll see," she said. "I can't say anything, I'm sworn to secrecy."
As well as once being a Playboy model, Monaco has had a number of regular TV jobs. Her roles have included Baywatch, Port Charles and she currently stars in General Hospital. This year she's been on a guest on chat shows including The Tony Danza Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Monaco has most recently been in the limelight for ABC's Dancing With the Stars. A remake of the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, its six-part first season has been yet another massive hit for ABC. It's already been commissioned for a second season and will likely receive a bigger episode order. "The show is tremendous fun, perfect for our brand and a wonderful boost for
our schedule," ABC's Steve McPherson told Variety. "Having Dancing and Brat Camp both emerge this summer as assets for the future gives us great upside."
