By Antony May 25, 2005 - 12:04 AMRoger Bart (George Williams) has signed on to appear in Desperate Housewives's second season.
But according to Variety, we'll be seeing more of the sneaky pharmicist who wormed his way into Bree's life and tampered with Rex's medication, as actor Roger Bart has signed on to join the cast full time.
Bart made his debut as George in January's "Move On", and appeared for three episodes in total in that month. After a four month absence he was back for another three episodes in May, making his sixth and final appearance of the season in the penultimate episode "Goodbye for Now".
Away from Desperate Housewives, Bart is keeping busy with a remake of the 1960s movie The Producers. He reprises his award-winning role of Carmen Ghia which he also played in the Broadway version of the musical. Another film he starred in, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, is currently in post-production.
Bart is the not the only one joining the Desperate Housewives main cast. Doug Savant (Tom Scavo, story), Alfre Woodard (Betty Applewhite, story) and Mehcad Brooks (Josh Applewhite, story) will all join the show as regulars next season.
