After a month of pre-emption and re-runs, new Desperate Housewives episodes return this Sunday on ABC.
"The Ladies Who Lunch" will air on Sunday March 27 2005 at 9pm. Here are the official details:
Maisy Gibbons' series of unfortunate events shock the residents of Wisteria Lane, and have unexpected consequences for Bree; Gabrielle faces a crisis of her own when her sewer system goes out and she doesn't have the money to fix it; and Lynette braves a scandal herself when it's rumored that the twins started the school's head lice epidemic. Meanwhile, as Susan sinks into depression over her breakup with Mike, she finds a surprising ally.
The episode was directed by Arlene Sanford—her fourth episode to date—and was written by Alexandra Cunningham, who also wrote "Come In, Stranger".
Below is a list of the guest actors appearing in this episode:
- Sharon Lawrence as Maisy Gibbons
- Doug Savant as Tom Scavo
- Zane Huette as Parker Scavo

The Scavo family are, as usual, recurring guest characters. After first locking horns with Lynette over Robin Hood, this is the third appearance of Maisy Gibbons. Martha Huber's sister Felicia makes her fourth appearance, Ida Greenberg makes her fifth and Headmaster Lentz returns for the first time.
Guest star Lisa Darr (Tisha Atherton) previously starred in ABC's short-lived Life As We Know It, and has guest starred in a wide range of programs including Strong Medicine, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and The X-Files.
As with all episodes so far, the title is taken from a Stephen Sondheim song. "The Ladies Who Lunch" appeared in the musical Company and was originally sung by Elain Stritch. You can read the lyrics of the song.
"The Ladies Who Lunch" will air on ABC on Sunday March 27 2005 at 9pm.
