By Antony September 23, 2006 - 12:56 AMAnother two new faces have been added to the cast of Desperate Housewives for season three.
The latest additions are Kathleen York and Matt Roth, according to The Hollywood Reporter via Zap2it. Little is known about York's character except that she will be "a beautiful redhead mystery woman". Her most recent (and longest) TV role was as Andrea Wyatt, the ex-husband of Toby Ziegler in the now-canceled The West Wing. She's also had a stint on The O.C., and has guest starred on Malcolm in the Middle and the aborted ABC pilot Soccer Moms.
Roth meanwhile will play Art, a man who becomes friends with Lynette. The site reports that he helps calm "a tense situation", and Get Desperate! sources indicate that this will be the hostage situation reported on yesterday. Roth appeared in numerous episodes of Roseanne in the early '90s, and has guest starred on Housewives' ABC sibling Grey's Anatomy and Numb3rs.
Roth's wife, Laurie Metcalf, is also appearing in Housewives this season as Carolyn Bigsby. Zap2it notes that "the couple most likely won't be working together", however our source thinks they may.
In true Desperate Housewives style, 51 year old Metcalfe is 28 years older than 23 year old Roth. Gabrielle would be proud. Discuss this news item at Talk Desperate!
