Eva Longoria People Guide In a change of pace for the housewives of Wisteria Lane, four castmembers are to star in a music video.
According to Reuters, Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis), Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) and Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) will appear alongside Shania Twain in the video for her new single "Shoes".
The song will appear on the previously announced Desperate Housewives soundtrack, which includes "music from and inspired by" the show. Set for release next month, the CD will include a number of previously unreleased cover versions, including Gloria Estefan singing "Young Hearts Run Free". The music will be interspersed with dialog from the show.
The CD shouldn't be confused, however, with a product titled Music for Housewives on Wisteria Lane. There seems to be no discernible connection with the show other than the naming of the product, and the first review at Amazon.com is not positive. "This CD is obviously designed to cash in on the popularity of Desperate Housewives," wrote T.B, who also rated it one star. "The album is heavy with soundalike (and not so soundalike) covers of country hits by female vocalists. This is the sort of knockoff stuff that 30 years ago sold for a buck or two on budget labels!"
The article on the Shania Twain music video can be found at Reuters. The official Desperate Housewives soundtrack can be pre-ordered from Amazon.com. If you're curious about Music for Housewives on Wisteria Lane, you can find out more here. Discuss this news item at Talk Desperate!
