After losing against the Winter Olympics last week, Desperate Housewives this week retook the number one spot in its hour. But it was Grey's Anatomy that took home gold for the evening—for the second week running it had the largest audience.
According to figures published by Zap2it, "Thank You So Much" scored a 14.2 rating with a 20 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 14.2% were tuned into DH, as well as 20% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm.
Desperate Housewives was down marginally on last week, but NBC's Olympics coverage was down further with a 13.0/18 score, allowing Housewives to win its hour. CBS was in a distant third place with Terminator 3.
But it was Grey's Anatomy that was once again the Sunday victor. Although down on last week's rating, its 15.0/23 mean it had the biggest audience of the night. It's the second week running that it has beaten its lead-in show Desperate Housewives.
Grey's Anatomy's victory was profiled in a separate article at Zap2it. "If it had happened only once, it could have been considered a fluke," reported the site. "But then Sunday night, it happened again. Now, we may almost have a trend on our hands."
In total viewers NBC won the evening with a 11.6/17 rating, bettering ABC's 10.8/16. But ABC won in the 18–49 demographic with its 7.4 beating NBC's 5.4.
