Desperate Housewives showed some growth in the third week of sweeps.
According to figures released by MediaWeek, "The Sun Won't Set" scored a 17.6 rating with a 25 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 17.6% were tuned into DH, as well as 25% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm.
Information on total viewers and 18–49 ratings was unavailable at time of publication. Here are the ratings in context, with Housewives getting near-identical ratings as this time last year:
With Desperate Housewives putting in a stronger performance, so did lead-out Grey's Anatomy with a 14.1/22 rating. Desperate Housewives beat CBS's Cold Case (which ran from 8:45pm to 9:45pm) which scored 11.8/17, NBC's remake of The Poseidon Adventure (which was in the middle of its three hours running time), a Fox combination of Family Guy and American Dad and a WB rerun of Supernatural.
ABC won the night, with a 12.2/18 rating, but it only just beat CBS which scored 11.7/17 off the back of NFL Football earlier in the evening.
