When ABC promised at the end of last week's episode that not all characters would survive the Desperate Housewives season finale, it wasn't just the fans that got worried.
"The finale is one of my biggest episodes," James Denton (Mike Delfino) told USA Today, for an article looking at the prospects of each of the husbands. "It sure feels like they'd have to bring Mike back because there's a lot to explain next year. But they don't have to notify me until June. And they really haven't."
Mike Delfino could be written out of the show by having him face the music for his many run-ins with the law. But Wisteria Lane's plumber isn't alone in having run into some hot legal waters. "Paul [Young] has to pay. He's killed at least one person, maybe more," Denton said, commenting on Mark Moses' character. But while Carlos Solis is also facing jail time, Denton didn't sound overly concerned about Ricardo Antonio Chavira's chances. "Carlos has to go to jail, but eight years could end up translating to eight episodes."
The two remaining characters USA Today examined were Rex van de Kamp and Tom Scavo. The paper noted that Doug Savant's Tom Scavo hadn't really done anything to warrant expulsion, as ABC scrapped a planned storyline that would have revealed Tom was supporting a second family. But the Scavo marriage has recently begun to show its first cracks. "Tom seems to be fairly entrenched with Lynette," Denton noted, "although there's clearly trouble in paradise."
For Denton's thoughts on Rex's chances of survival, head over to the full article. But if you want to know for sure what's going to happen with the DH men, there's only one way to find out -- tune in tomorrow at 9:00pm for the season finale, "One Wonderful Day."
