  • In a survey by Spike TV, apparently many men admit to watching Desperate Housewives, but only because their partner forces them to reported New York Daily News.

  • Alfre Woodard [Betty Applewhite] recently attended the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith premiere, reported U-San Bernardino County Sun. When asked what was the bigger phenomenon out of the two, she said: "They're both huge. Maybe 'Desperate Star Wars'? Or how about 'Star Wars Housewives'?"

  • San Antonio Current reported on the Connection Covenant Church and how it uses TV programmes to illustrate "life-lessons". One of those shows is Desperate Housewives. "The TV series thing came to me one night when I was up at one or two in the morning," said Brandon Ysteboe. "I was reading my Bible, and Proverb 7 sounded just like Desperate Housewives. It talked about a wife whose husband's gone away on business, so now she has to seduce this young man. And it deals with the consequences of it all. So I'm looking at it and thinking, 'Man, that's pretty cool.'"

  • Marcia Cross [Bree Van De Kamp] is due to present a Tony Award on June 5, according to Playbill News.

  • The Boston Globe has a feature on Nicolette Sheridan [Nicolette Sheridan] how she is the "true modern queen of the prime-time serial".

  • Gwen Anthony, writing for The Jackson Sun, shared her thoughts on Desperate Housewives.

  • Noel Holston, in an article for Newsday.com, said that Desperate Housewives wouldn't exist if it weren't for The Sopranos.

  • "Gay Villains Back with a Vengeance on Network TV," proclaims an article on AfterElton.com. Andrew Van De Kamp is one of the characters featured.

  • Sarah Rodman wants answers, in her article about Desperate Housewives' secrets.

  • Not content with just general ratings, the TV networks are now fighting over "upscale" (i.e. wealthy) viewers, according to a Wall Street Journal report. According to the article ABC is touting Desperate Housewives as the most upscale show on television due to the largest number of affluent 18–49 viewers. Other networks, such as Fox, aren't so sure though.

  • The Hollywood Report has published an analysis of the US TV networks, where they stand and where they are heading. "ABC appears to be on the move in a big way judging by the buzz factor and the overwhelmingly strong response to its new shows," wrote Cynthia Littleton.

  • ContraCostaTimes.com explored a real-life Wisteria Lane in Castro Valley.

  • Six new Celebrity Poker Showdown episodes air will air in August, reported The Olympian, with the men of Desperate Housewives set to be on the show.

  • Conservative MP David Cameron is a fan of the show. "I adore Desperate Housewives," he told The Observer. "I think it is far and away the best thing on television."

  • Singer Ashanti has signed on to start in Jesse Metcalfe's [John Rowland] upcoming movie John Tucker Must Die (previously called just John Tucker), according to Dark Horizons.
