By Antony February 21, 2007 - 5:11 PMKyle MacLachlan (Orson Hodge) spoke of the "exceptional" chemistry that he has with Marcia Cross (Bree Hodge) and how the set "crackles" with fun, but admitted he was nervous to join the show.
"Well I was a little nervous, you know?", he told IGN. "Because I wanted to make sure that whatever I did, sort of fit in with what they were doing. But I didn't really have to worry, because the writers and Marc Cherry spent a lot of time thinking about this role, and the writers had really crafted a great character. So I just slipped into his skin and we were off and running. The great surprise, and the wonderful surprise for me, was the chance to work with Marcia. You never know when you start something how you're gonna connect with someone, and I think our chemistry is really great; exceptionally good!"
He said he also enjoyed working with Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew Van De Kamp) and spoke about what it's like to work with Dixie Carter (Gloria Hodge). "Aww, I love her. She's great. She's a pro, as is Marcia. The three of us have a great time together. When we get on that set, it just crackles, 'cause it's just so much fun."
When it comes to the future of his character, and why he ran over Mike, MacLachlan said he doesn't know what's to come. "I think it's great that these crazy things happen, and they obviously have thought through them to a certain degree," he said. "But I also think that there's a wonderful kind of unknown area that goes on. They'll set something out there, and they'll throw out a marker out there. They'll say, 'Okay, swim to that marker!' How we get there is really up to us, and whatever we come up with. So that's kind of a cool process of discovery." Discuss this news item at Talk Desperate!
