In the fifteenth episode of season three, Orson Hodge is troubled.

Get Desperate! sources revealed Orson is hospitalized after supposedly falling from a roof. However a psychiatrist isn't so sure, and suspects that Orson tried to kill himself. Orson denies this, but the psychiatrist points to Orson's troubled past with his abusive father, and the fact that he has been institutionalized before, as evidence that Orson may not be well.

However a bigger tragedy is looming for the troubled Mr. Hodge—his mother has a brain hemorrhage, leaving her paralyzed and unable to communicate. But it's not long before Orson starts thinking of a care place to send her. Could her illness be a blessing in disguise for Orson?

Meanwhile a mistake of Lynette's threatens to derail the opening of Tom's pizza parlor, and a visit to the hospital proves enlightening for Ian.
