Eva Longoria has slammed gossip publications for being useless, and said she doesn't like them focusing on her sex life with Tony Parker. Meanwhile in another interview, she chatted about... Tony Parker.
Longoria, who is promoting The Sentinel which debuts this Friday, told Reuters that "it's annoying, absolutely," that the media chooses to focus on her relationship with Parker according to 7news. "I respect good journalism. I respect certain newspapers and certain publications, and they are just watered down by the bounty for gossip and pictures and information that is irrelevant and uninteresting."
She chose instead to talk about a weightier subject, that of immigration to the US. She said it was "unfortunate" that some wanted to deport illegal immigrants and fence off the border. "Mexicans contribute an enormous amount to our society, economically and socially," she said. "I don't think this administration can afford to have things end badly."
Meanwhile, she spoke to People about the solidity of her relationship with Parker. "I'd much rather be in a relationship," she said. "There's no way in the world I would rather be single. Tony is too. I've said the only reason Tony and I are going to stay together forever is because we're too lazy to look for someone else."
She did take the opportunity again to hit back at the rumor mongering, including the tabloid tales that she was dating Kiefer Sutherland and Jamie Foxx. "I don't really pay attention to it," she said. "Tony and I are really secure. Plus, Tony doesn't have a jealous bone in his body. Kiefer is friends with Tony and me. Jamie is friends with Tony and me. Anybody who's in my life is a friend of mine is also a friend of Tony's."
She also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman recently. Letterman probed her for plot details, but she was coy. "I can't say, as I'm always the leak," she laughed. "I always accidentally say something on a show, and Marc Cherry calls me, he's like 'Eva!'," she said, mimicking a disappointed Cherry's voice. He continued to press on her if anyone would die or be killed, and asked if any more housewives would move into the neighborhood and be desperate. "No, I think I think it's just the five of us."
She also said that fans were very nice to her, which she didn't expect. "Everybody's nice. I thought they'd hate me as I play such a bad girl."
