As jobs go, being in a TV show where viewers will never see your face probably wouldn't be ranked very highly by most actors and actresses. But Carolyn Howard, who is a body double for the heavily-pregnant Marcia Cross (Bree Hodge, thinks it's a step in the right direction.

"I don't think our faces are terribly similar, but when you photo-double, the important similarities are height, weight, skin color and mannerisms," Howard told Inside Bay Area. "Marcia and I have very similar hair, actually, but I still wear a wig so that styling is identical. She is one of the nicest actresses I've met so far."

For Howard it's a step onto the acting ladder which will hopefully take her to a speaking role. But for now she's had stand-in role elevated after scenes shot at Cross's home were becoming too tiring for the mother-to-be, and they started to shoot action scenes with Howard too. "We took the whole crew to her home and set up two pieces of the set in her house to shoot the few last scenes of her face," Howard said. "By this point, she was exhausted, and it was becoming harder for her to even walk around her house comfortably."

Howard's mother Melinda Howard said she thinks her daughter's ambitions to entertain began with music. "I think it started with her piano lessons," she said, recalling hearing her daughter singing one night. "I heard this soprano voice, and I was thinking, 'Wow, she has the music up kind of loud."
