By Christian December 19, 2005 - 11:38 PMABC announced today Desperate Housewives fans will be able to celebrate the new year by reliving all the show's high points from last year.
On Sunday the 1st of January, 2006, the network is planning to air Desperate Housewives: All The Jucy Details, a one-hour clip show ("original special," in network parlance) celebrating "some of the best and most-loved moments" of the show. The special will also serve to bring viewers up to date on the storylines from the first half of the second season by following the story arc of each of the show's main characters.
This will be ABC's second Desperate Housewives clip show. In late April, the network aired "Sorting Out The Dirty Laundry, another one-hour special highlighting the best bits from the first season, as well as providing a sneak preview at the show's season finale. Despite being a clip show, the special performed extremely well for ABC, drawing approximately 24 million viewers (story). Last year, ABC also aired a special devoted to Lost toward the end of the season, but no such special appears to be planned for the New Year period.
"All The Juicy Details" will feature original narration by Brenda Strong in her role as Mary Alice Young. A similar narration was planned for last years "Dirty Laundry" special, but never materialised -- the special was instead narrated by an unfamiliar female voice.
