Nicolette Sheridan (Edie Britt) dropped in on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno earlier this month, and defended her character's character.

"Edie is torturing Susan with her ex-husband [this season], that's a good move don't you think?" she told host Jay Leno. Leno said he thought Edie was going to be more "straight" and less "trampy", but Sheridan mocked indignation at the suggestion. "I don't know that she's 'trampy'. She might have been a little 'promiscuous' but she's always very honest about it (which is important). And no... no.. I don't think [she'll be less trampy]."

Trampy or not, Sheridan said that she thinks a lot of fans admire Edie. "I think there's a lot of Edie envy," she said. "Women come up and would like to be a little bit more like her. I'm not sure what that means, but they do say that." But Sheridan said she personally was more like two of the other characters. "I can be a little anal retentive, so that's Bree, and I think Susan's vulnerability which most people don't get to see. But it's true."

Leno seized on the mention of Bree to bring up the matter of Sheridan cleaning. Cleaning naked. "Okay that happened once, I'm never going to live it down," she screamed. "Once! I had a fever, I was sweaty, I took my clothes off and I was cleaning! Yes. Once! When I get sick I do tend to take on huge tasks in the house, reorganizing the closet, cleaning out the kitchen cupboards. Fascinating stuff."
