• Karen Leigh at EW.com slammed the episode as "mind-numbing" and said it relied too much on "tits and ass":

  It's a sad, sad night on Wisteria Lane when the most interesting note I scribbled during the episode reads, 'Edie's son gets her a beer, and she calls him 'Chipmunk.'' Tonight seemed a particularly, erm, desperate attempt to squeeze in as much T&A as possible—which in Cherry World means gratuitous shots of Teri Hatcher's thighs and Eva Longoria rocking tight tracksuits.

• Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online seemed to like the episode however, particularly the ending: "I always enjoy it when they leave us with a shocker, so the best part of the episode was the very end. I just knew that something strange was going to be revealed about Mrs. McCluskey, since they don't normally show her alone in her house talking to the spirit of her dead husband Gilbert. So there he was — at least his dead body—inside her freezer. Oh, the questions! Can we assume she killed him? Or maybe she loved him so much she wanted him close by, preserved to look like he used to look?"

• Jen Creer at TV Squad also enjoyed the episode, and said it was one of the best of the season. "Hooray! Desperate Housewives has hit its stride (finally this season) with a great, laugh-out-loud episode. I loved the roundabout way Edie and Carlos ended up together at the end of the episode. Maybe they really needed to feel connected as though they really were a family for things to click in the bedroom. What do you think Gaby is going to find out when she finds out that Carlos is with Edie now? I think she is going to flip. But will that separate Edie and Carlos? Or Gaby and Victor?"
