With a number of TV critics accusing the second season of Desperate Housewives of below par, creator Marc Cherry said the show can't be brilliant all the time.
In an interview with Manteca Bulletin Cherry said he is happy with the quality of the season so far and that he's doing his best to pleased. "Yes, we're trying some new stuff," Cherry said. "Some of it might work. Some of it might not. This, of course, is the nature of episodic television. They can't all be gems."
Cherry also denied any suggestion that he wasn't involved with the show as much. "I am as involved in the writing process as I've ever been," he said. "I help come up with the story lines, I give notes and, indeed, I rewrite things constantly. I take the credit and the blame for everything that goes on the screen."
But Aaron Barnhart, who runs the TV Barn Web site, said with the show creator signing on to develop Kill/Switch he may be spreading himself thin. "It's probably awfully tempting to think of yourself as building an empire and wanting to develop several shows instead of being satisfied developing that one exquisitely good show," said Barnhart.
