Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) paid a visit to Live with Regis and Kelly last week, where the chat show hosts showed some of season two and talked to her about her visit to the Toronto Film Festival.
The scene from the second season has Gabrielle talking to Carlos in prison. He sits in stony silence with his arms crossed, while Gabrielle tries to convince him that she's sorry. "So, you're just not going to talk to me?," asks Gabrielle. "Is that it? Fine. I don't need to talk. Okay, yes, I had a little affair. It wasn't the best thing to do, and I'm not proud of it. But it's not the worst thing that could have happened, nobody died. Oh don't be such a martyr, Carlos. Okay, it takes two people. How many times did you of on your little business trips and leave me alone. So see, technically, you cheated too. It was just your mistress was your work."
Carlos gets up, and Gabrielle panics. "Okay, that was a stretch, I'm sorry. Carlos, wait, come back!" she pleads. "I want to start over. We're going to have a baby. Isn't that what you alway wanted? Carlos, wait I said I was sorry and I love you! What more do you want?" Carlos replies calmly that he wants a paternity test.
Longoria also talked about how recent visit to the Toronto Film Festival, where her new movie Harsh Times was shown. "It's critically acclaimed," she said. "It was the buzz of the festival, and I was surprised. I did it on my Christmas hiatus of Desperate Housewives [...] It's written by David Ayer who wrote Training Day, and this is his directorial debut." One of the hosts mistakenly thought they were going to show a clip from the movie, but Longoria explained that it probably wouldn't be possible anyway due to the film's nature. "The movie's a really dark movie, I don't think you could show any of it."
The movie tells the tale of two friends, and the violence that comes between them. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bauer Martinez Distribution picked up all North American rights to distribute the movie for $4m a couple of days ago. "It has a strong commercial appeal and an even stronger critical appeal," said chairman and CEO Phillipe Martine. "Every movie is challenging to distribute, but this movie is worth it."
