In its fourth week back since the summer break, Desperate Housewives was down slightly in total viewership but up in the overnights and 18–49 demographic.
According to figures released by MediaWeek, "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" scored a 18 rating with a 25 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 18% were tuned into DH, as well as 25% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm. The show pulled a 11.3/25 rating in the coveted 18–49 demographic.
Here are this week's Desperate Housewives ratings in context:
With 25.51 million viewers, it was down for the third week running in total viewership—but only marginally. It was however up slightly in the overnights and the all-important 18–49 demo. Desperate Housewives lead-out Grey's Anatomy was up in all its numbers at 13.3/20 rating, 18.62 million viewers and 8.6/21 in the 18–49 demographic.
With CBS running late due to NFL Football overrun, Cold Case was pushed into the path of Desperate Housewives and scored a second place 9.5/13. NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent suffered and fell to third place with 8.0/11, 9.97 million viwers and a 3.2/7 18–49 score. Fox trailed behind with MLB American League Championship Series, and the WB with episodes of Blue Collar TV.
ABC as usual easily won the evening beating CBS by 3.53m viewers—and CBS's 3.9/10 18–49 score was easily bested by ABC's 7.4/18.
