Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) recently indicated that he could potentially return for season three of Housewives, but is pondering all his options.
"I've been very selective and I've turned down half a dozen things," he told ComingSoon.net while promoting his film debut John Tucker Must Die. "Some things came right away after I was done shooting. I came back into town and shot a few episodes of Housewives. There's been some talk of me coming back for a third season. I'm weighing that out."
He said he wants to avoid the mistakes of other actors that choose projects that stall their careers, but also doesn't want to have nothing to do. "I don't think any actor likes to be too stagnant and not working. I know it drives me crazy. I'm definitely a type 'A' personality that likes to be always moving forward and I feel like work really anchors me but I'm just looking for the right thing. There's a couple of possibilities on the near horizon so we'll see what happens."
Meanwhile he spoke to MTV how he had to don a G-String for John Tucker Must Die. "It wasn't in the script initially and [the director] kind of broke it to me gently. I warmed up to it and thought it would be funny. "Putting that thing on for the first time and preparing myself to go out and shoot that scene—I was a little nervous."
But he soon calmed down and said he feels stronger for the experience. "Once I got out there and I had my thong and my robe on, I was like, 'Let's just break the ice.' It got easier after the first take," he said. "It was kind of a rush. It was me running down the hallway in a G-string in front of 50 extras. I don't think many men can say they've done that. But I can—I survived it and I think I'm a better, stronger person for it."
The film's official website is a MySpace page that can be found here, where marketing people attempt to write like 27-year-old Metcalfe's 17-year-old character John Tucker. The film debuts in US theatres on July 28 2006.
