  • Annie Barrett at EW.com said she liked how Alma got to narrate the ending of the episode:

I loved the way Alma provided the voice-over to the closing shots last night instead of Mary Alice — Alma's ironic naïveté showed how sneaky she can be, and offered some relief from the singsong platitudes we usually get in M.A.'s wrap-ups. And in another switcheroo, we learned that Alma left Orson not because he was a control freak about hand towels and she felt trapped but because she realized he was having an affair and she desperately wanted to matter to him. I liked that this episode began exactly as the season premiere did, but with a different context due to all we've observed about Orson's character since then.

You can read her full analysis over at EW.com.

  • Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online said Valerie Mahaffey is as "stellar addition" to the cast as Alma. "What a final scene — Alma is moving to Wisteria Lane, thanks to the real-estate savvy of Edie. The best episodes of DH are the ones like tonight that introduce new mysteries while further answering old ones. What was Alma giving herself a shot of in her thigh? For a while there, I thought she was killing herself, but I was wrong. I liked the earlier flashback scene where we found out why Alma and Orson got married — she tricked him into getting her pregnant, and he was never in love with her. Loved when she showed up to Bree's door, and Bree fainted ... her best line was to Orson while sitting next to Bree on the couch: 'What is it with you and redheads?'"

  • Jen Creer at TV Squad was feeling rather smug due to an earlier prediction regarding Alma. "I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. I told you so. For those of you tuning in new to these reviews, I said early in the season that I did not believe that Orson had killed his wife, and that I thought we were being led to believe that. Yes, he hit Mike. But I still don't think we have the whole story behind that either. It is starting to look like everything Orson has told Bree has been true."

  • But Jeff Commings at AZNightBuzz.com said the episode was "back to form", and looked forward to seeing what Alma go up to. "Can'’t wait to see how Alma’s going to turn the screws as the newest resident of Wisteria Lane. I don't think she wants Orson back, the fact that she repulsed him during their marriage made that clear. What do you think her motive is for buying the house that formerly housed two killers and a pedophile?"

  • There is also brief recap at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated it a B+.
