First it was Sophie Mayer, then Phyllis Van De Kamp. Now it's George Williams's mother Francine who will be making the latest motherly appearance on Wisteria Lane.
According to New York Post, veteran soap actress Linda Dano will appear in the eighth episode of the season titled "I Must Be Dreaming". "She's a colorful woman," Dano told the site, "bigger than life who's got a big personality—and she's absolutely devoted to her boy."
Dano said she was given a lot of freedom with her role. "They sort of left me to my own devices as to what to play," she said. "They wanted Francine to be dressed not high-end or low-end but somewhere in the middle." She said her scenes are with Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) and Roger Bart (George). "They're both lovely people and lots of fun," she said. "Marcia said to me, 'You wouldn't remember this, but I worked on Another World with you.'"
Dano's TV roles include a seventeen year stint on Another World. She's also been in All My Children, Port Charles and General Hospital
