• Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) and Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) are all vying for an Emmy. Creator Marc Cherry revealed how each of their characters would handle winning an Emmy. "If Susan won, she'd drop the Emmy on her foot. If Bree won, she'd make sure it was very clean. And if Lynette won, her kids would probably steal it and bury it somewhere."

• Critics have paid tribute to Desperate Housewives after naming it the best show in a B&C poll recently. "[It] has found a way of playfully mixing comedy, mystery, drama and soap opera into an engaging hour. It's life, slightly over the top, and I can't wait for its return," said Jay Handelman of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Dave Walker of the New Orleans Times-Picayune said: "Housewives is just what TV needed It's television for people who love television, written and produced by people who truly understand and respect their audience." Bob Laurence of the San Diego Union-Tribune said the show was "always fun and irreverent" but said "it'll be interesting to see how long they can keep it fresh."

• Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) recently visited a Children's hospice and spoke about Padres Contra el Cancer, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families. "Ultimately, my goal is for Padres to become a nationally recognized organization," she said. "It is the only organization of its kind that supports the Latino community. And when you consider that over 70% of the juvenile cancer patients at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles are Latino, you understand the invaluable service that Padres offers to the community."

• There are five new wallpapers of Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) online, as well as pictures of James Denton (Mike Delfino) at the 13th Annual ESPY Awards and taking part in a celebrity softball game. Denton also apparantly chauffered some of the players.

• Felicity Huffman's Conan O'Brien appearance will be repeated on July 19 on CNBC.

• On average ABC has the youngest viewers of all the main networks at 45.3. Overall, CBS has the eldest viewership at 51.8 and UPN the youngest at 32.9.

• Desperate Housewives made its debut in India yesterday.

• Desperate Housewives has received a number of nominations in Zap2it.com's Amy awards.

• Five is producing a show called Surburban Shootout which is being compared to Desperate Housewives.
