  • Ausiello at TV Guide contacted a Desperate Housewives spokesperson to find out why the full credit sequence, with its Emmy award-winning theme tune, has been shortened recently. "A Desperate rep cites timing issues," he wrote. "Apparently, the episodes have been running long and something had to go."

  • Zap2it's 'TV Gal' has named her favorite TV characters, and chose Lynette as one of the best. "How long have I loved Felicity Huffman? She amazed me when she was Dana on Sports Night (there are episodes of that series that still give me chills). So that certainly gives Huffman the edge among the Housewives. But Huffman has been able to achieve something the other leading ladies haven't. I always, always believe Lynette. Talk to a rat in a trash can? Why not? Set up a fake kidnapping of your own children? Sure. She has always made Lynette the most relatable character."

  • Desperate Housewives reviewer Sarah Gilbert has named her top five characters that she'd like to see get their own show, over at TV Squad. Her choices include Dr. Goldfine and Lonnie, Susan's book agent. "[Wallace Shawn] was soullessly evil in The Princess Bride, but he's more nuanced in Desperate Housewives; greedy and flawed, irrational and forlorn. In both roles, he fools no one so well as himself. His new show should involve him meeting and marrying a string of writer-wives (all at the same time, without their knowledge), preferably romance authors."

  • ET spoke to Brent and Shane Kinsman (Preston and Porter Scvo), who appear in the sequel to Cheaper By The Dozen which is out in North American theatres this month. "We learned a new trick on TV," said Brent Kinsman. "Like when somebody's sleeping, get a feather and a bottle of whipped cream, put whipped cream on their hand, tickle their nose with the feather, then they'll scratch and whipped cream will get all over their face!"

  • James Denton (Mike Delfino) made a guest appearance on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, according to a press release at The Futon Critic. The episode originally aired on December 11, but will be repeated on Thursday December 22.

  • There are pictures of Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) attending GQ Magazine 2005 Men of the Year at JesseMetcalfe.net.

  • Variety reported on Disney embracing video in demand, and how syndication of shows such as Desperate Housewives will raise over $1 billion for the company over the next five years.

  • GFN has reported on the controversial "Focus on the Family" group, which is targeting any companies that associate themselves with the gay community. The article mentions how Mary Kay Cosmetics and Old Navy stores were targeted for advertising on Desperate Housewives.

  • Jovana G at Ultimate Desperate Housewives reviewed TransAmerica and spoke to its cast and director.

  • In one of its more stranger program acquisitions, the US SCI FI Channel has acquired the rights to air NBC soap Passions, reported New York Daily News. The show starred Jesse Metcalfe, and SCI FI will show the series from the very beginning starting February 6 2006.

  • The third season of Ellen, which featured Joely Fisher (Nina Fletcher), will be available in February 2006 according to TV Shows on DVD.
