In a recent trip to Portland, Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis) spoke about his role and his desire to inspire other Latinos.
"[Carlos] will be turning over a new leaf," Chavira told KATU 2, "a definite change of attitude and perspective." That was all the actor would reveal, but he did talk about what Carlos's best trait was. "He'd never say integrity, he'd say ambition. You know that's telling about something, or someone, do you know what I meant? But I think I'm a little bit softer than him."
While in Portland, Chavira talked to students at Portland State University and attended a Latino Scolarship dinner, which he said was a way to inspire success amongst Latinos. He also said he believes that Latinos are now getting better stories on TV. "Our stories are becoming not only more interesting, are being able to be told now. Not just the stereotypical stories."
Interesting stories like his, naturally, where he gets a chance to work with Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis). When asked about his on-screen wife he said "she's completely edible" and that she has so much energy it's "almost bothersome".
