• Good Morning America aired a deleted scene from Desperate Housewives recently in its battle for ratings with Today. Desperate for Desperate Housewives reported that the scene involved Bree therapist catching her with George.

• Nine's broadcast of The Logies beat Desperate Housewives in the ratings last week, according to 7news entertainment.

• Laura Bush, who recently said she watches Desperate Housewives in a speech, apparantly has only heard of the show according to Morning Sentinel and hasn't actually seen it.

• Dr Sue Gillett, a senior lecturer in Australia, will be using Desperate Housewives to "explore the ever-changing and dynamic roles women have played in television mythology", reported The Age.

• Desperate Housewives ranks among the top shows on US television for advertiser recall, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This means viewers of the show are more likely to recall the products they've seen in advertisement breaks in Desperate Housewives than in most other programs.

• Variety reported that the North American distribution rights have been picked up for Felicity Huffman's [Lynette Scavo] Transamerica by Bob and Harvey Weinstein's new company Weinsten Co. "Felicity Huffman gives an amazing performance, and we are excited about distributing Duncan Tucker's wonderfully funny, intelligent and beautifully crafted film," Harvey Weinstein said last Tuesday.

• ABC has released details of its comedy pilots up for consideration. • Disney, owner of Desperate Housewives network ABC, posted a 30% earnings jump in Q2 according to Los Angeles Times.
