On a recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) talked about her qualification in psychology and how she'd like to pursue it again some day.
"I'm just completely fascinated with human beings," Cross told host David Letterman when appearing on his show last week, explaining why she went back to school and got a Masters degree in psychology. "Like, for instance, you Dave. I always want to know about you, you're always interviewing everybody and you're like, you know, man of mystery. But anyway, I'm just interested in everybody's story."
Cross said that she has already done some work as a psychologist. "I was getting my clinical training, so I wasn't licensed yet but I had clients." And when asked if she'd like to do more psychology, she said she would but not just yet. "I think absolutely, in another maybe ten years."
Talking about Desperate Housewives, Cross spoke very briefly about season two. "This year it'll be fun because I get to play the field and everything," she said. But she also commented on how important it was for her to keep her character grounded. "My character is very extreme. So I need to make sure she's as deep as she is eccentric. That's important to me."
