But during the summer, ABC is pushing reruns of the show to 10pm to make way for a new reality TV show about a neighborhood's residents getting to choose which family can move into a new luxury home.
Welcome to the Neighborhood makes it debut at 9pm on July 10, according to press release at The Futon Critic. The six-part show will focus on "neighbors living in a quiet, picturesque suburban community get to choose the family who'll move in next door to them, their belief systems gets rocked as they try to get past their own pre-conceived notions and prejudices, and the idea that a neighbor should look and think just like them."
Families competing include a pagan family that worships many gods, and a homosexual couple with an adopted son. Week by week families will be evicted until a family is claim the four-bedroom house near Austin, Texas. The three families that will decide who can move in include a staunch Republican and a devoted Christian family.
According to Variety, ABC has dug up a new two-hour episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to air before the premiere of Welcome to the Neighborhood. A few days later ABC will debut another reality series, Brat Camp, with back-to-back episodes from 8pm to 10pm on Wednesday July 13 before settling into a regular 9pm slot.
