James Denton People Guide,
Steven Culp People Guide While the five Desperate Housewives lead actresses will be taking a well-deserved rest over the summer, secure in the knowledge that they'll be back next year, it seems the show's male stars will be spending their time fretting next to the phone.
"I don't think any of the guys are sure of their fate," James Denton (Mike Delfino) told TV Diva Kristin at E! Online. "I mean, hopefully, Mike will be back, but I don't know. The finale is in one week, and then you'll have to draw your own conclusions. But they don't have to tell us until June. So, we'll all be kind of waiting on pins and needles by the fax machine to see if we get picked up."
Denton and the other men from Desperate Housewives spoke with Kristin following a panel discussion organised by the Screen Actors Guild, of which we'll be posting a full report tomorrow. Besides Denton, the event was attended by Doug Savant (Tom Scavo), Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis), and Steven Culp (Rex van de Kamp). The latter actor indicated he would very much like to return next year. "We really don't know what's going to happen, and there's a lot of mystery as to my fate for next season. But I hope I'm back, because I think there's more of the Rex and Bree relationship to explore."
Both Chavira and Savant talked about the upcoming season finale, although they were able to say little more than that the producers still had some "shocking" developments in store. Later on, Denton revealed this was probably because the actors still didn't know the real finale story either. "They shot alternate endings to a couple of things, and we're in the dark," he said. "It's nerve-racking, job-security-wise, but it's fun to be on a show that people care that much about. You know, where they have to put multiple endings and misinformation out there."
