March 13, 2006 - 5:24 PMCarol Burnett, who has signed on for a guest spot as Bree's step mother Eleanor Mason, said asked for her character to be even meaner than first planned.
"Just make her a little bitchier," Burnett said she advised Marc Cherry after reading a description of her character, according to The Columbus Dispatch. "It will be fun. I just think it’s so campy," she said.
Around a year ago, Cherry said that he would like to give Burnett a guest role, and now that his desire has come to fruition Burnett said she was honored to have been singled out by Cherry. "The interviewer asked who he would like to be a guest and he said my name, which was very sweet," she said.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, viewers "will learn that Eleanor entered the life of Bree after Bree’s mother was killed." Apparently Mason will arrive on Wisteria Lane after Andrew risks exposing the family's secrets.
Burnett's episode is tentatively scheduled to air on April 9.
