Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) has revealed that before he landed the role of John Rowland he had prior experience to dating older women.

"I have gone out with an older woman," Metcalfe told TV Guide Online. "I went out with a 32-year-old when I was 21. I have dated a few older women, but I don't really have a thing for them."

But like it or not, in bedding Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives he is gaining a dedicated following. "You can come and mow my lawn anytime" and "I have some hedges that need trimming," are just two of the predictable lines the actor is starting to hear when out and about. "We're selling the fantasy and people are buying into it. I think there's a lot of bored housewives out there. I really do," he said.

Asked which desperate housewife he'd choose, he answered Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis). But he pointed out that "Marcia Cross is a very close second. She's got perfect porcelain skin. She's a very beautiful, regal woman. I find her very attractive."

Meanwhile, James Denton (who has picked up a fair amount of attention too as Mike Delfino) is convinced the secret to his popularity is Teri Hatcher. Speaking to KATV Channel 7 he said: "I've been doing this a while and never been called sexy or hunky and this year, I've heard hunky attached to me name 200 times and I swear, it's only because I play Teri Hatcher's boyfriend. If you play Teri Hatcher's boyfriend, suddenly you're hot."
