- Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer) revealed to Eve Magazine (via the Denver Post) exactly how eager she was to win a role on Desperate Housewives, after ending a nine-year marriage in 2003. "Suddenly the financial situation in my life had changed. I was going to need to go back to work. ... So I met with the producers and begged them for a role. I said I'd make the coffee on set! I wanted to work on the show that badly."
- Hatcher's not the only Housewives actress who's ever worried about her professional future. "Seven years ago, I thought my career was dead," Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) told the Orlando Sun-Sentinel. "I couldn't get a role to save my life, and I became so depressed I got an application from a beauty school to study hairstyling."
- After helping Ashton Kutcher to pull a prank on Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) during last week's edition of Punk'd, Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland) will himself be the target of the MTV hidden camera show this Sunday. Thanks go out to JesseMetcalfe.net for the tip!
- The men of Wisteria Lane are featured on the front cover of the March 12 - March 18 edition of TV Guide Canada, which also includes interviews with each of the actors. If you've got the magazine, we would love to hear if they said anything newsworthy!
- Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis) will be one of many celebrities attending the Richard Biggs Memorial Show, a celebrity buffet breakfast that will benefit the family of Babylon 5 actor Biggs, who passed away a year ago.
- One lucky viewer of KATV in Arkansas will have dinner with James Denton (Mike Delfino) today, as the result of winning their Desperate Housewives contest - and on top of that, will be flown to Los Angeles to see the taping of an ABC show.
- Desperate Housewives seems to have done well for the executive that okayed it: Bloomberg is reporting that Disney president Robert Iger will likely be elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the media company, which is the parent of both ABC and DH studio Touchstone Television. Iger will be replacing embattled Disney head Michael Eisner.
- A recent survey sponsored by Dreyer's Slow Churned Ice Cream has revealed that only 6% of all Americans would describe their neighbourhood as being inhabited by "desperate housewives." Instead, when asked to pick a show that best resembled their own neighbourhood, 26% named Everybody Loves Raymond.
- Herissa Pacio at the Mercury News notes that "40 is the new 30," and says Desperate Housewives is helping women in their 40s realise this is when their life really starts to get fun.
- The Futon Critic has begun his annual series looking at the "Needs, Wants and Haves" of each broadcast network. First up is his look at ABC, in which he unsurprisingly notes that Desperate Housewives is the Alphabet's most successful new show of the season.
- Rick Brewer at the The Record, a newspaper based in Stockton, California, recently visited the real-life Wisteria Lane in local town Tracy. "We moved here after the show started," one of the residents told the paper. "So, it was funny the first 15 times someone said to me, ‘Oh, you live on Wisteria Lane. Do you watch Desperate Housewives?’ After that, it gets kind of old."
- Over at the Suburbs, there are new photos of Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew Van De Kamp) attending the Ladder 49 release party, the Ring Two premiere, and Nike's LA Rockstar party, photos of Andrea Bowen (Julie Mayer) and Brenda Strong (Mary Alice Young) at the Sardi's Awards Gala, and of Brenda Strong, Doug Savant (Tom Scavo), Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), James Denton, Mark Moses (Paul Young) and Steven Culp (Rex Van De Kamp) attending the 22nd Annual William S Paley Television Festival.
- According to the New York Daily News, Jesse Metcalfe was asked for the April 2005 issue of CosmoGirl about some of the actors he admires. "I can only hope to have a career as great as George Clooney's," he said. "He's a real class act. And Johnny Depp amazes me from an acting standpoint. I'm starting out kind of like he did - he was a pretty-boy actor who people didn't take seriously, and he obviously proved everybody wrong."
- Eva Longoria was recently photographed by the Star carrying a Coach Limited Edition Suede Pocket Satchel to the ABC Winter Press Tour Party.
- JamesDenton.com has posted new screencaps of the most recent Desperate Housewives episode, "Impossible."
