By Antony September 11, 2006 - 5:33 PMIn the second episode of season three, Mike Delfino will be suffering from memory loss.
Get Desperate! sources revealed that Mike will exit his coma but be suffering from the soap-stable of amnesia. But Susan, who has been tending to him for months, is shocked to find that Edie has launched on the opportunity to convince Mike that she (Edie) is his girlfriend. Susan reacts badly, and is ordered out of the hospital after a noisy fracas with Edie.
Also in the episode, someone tries to kill themselves by taking pills and cutting their wrists. They fail, but their actions cause obvious upset for those around them and there's more underage sex. Julie may be trying to resist the charms of Edie's nephew but her friends don't have any such qualms, and the war between Gabrielle and Carlos heats up with Gaby trying desperately to make Carlos jealous—no matter who she alienates in the process.
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by ABC or Touchstone Television, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumor. Spoiler information like this often comes from early script versions and some story details are liable to change before the episodes are shown.
Meanwhile according to sunjournal.com a leaked scene that was placed on YouTube has been removed at the request of Disney, owners of ABC and Touchstone. The scene featured Bree resisting a request by Orson to perform a sex act, saying "I'm a Republican."
How could we forget...
- Twin Peaks, which is often compared to Housewives and featured Kyle McLachlan (Orson), featured its own amnesia story. Other shows to employ it include 24 and Lost. (Dallas and/or Dyanasty probably did too.)
- When Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer) was in Lois and Clark, Lois lost her memory, became a singer and fell in love with another man in season three.
- Mike is probably be suffering from "traumatic amnesia" (being run over by a car tends to be traumatic). Patients can recover from this type of amnesia though.
