Online reviewers have weighed in on the latest Desperate Housewives episode.

Here's what they had to say about "Dress Big":

  • Karen Leigh has taken over as reviewer of Housewives at EW.com and seemed to enjoy Edie's scenes:

It's official: Ex-husband-stealing, I-redefine-the-word-'tramp' Edie is back. 'You should never buy lingerie when you're horny,' she said. 'It's like buying groceries when you're hungry.' Apparently she's itching for one Carlos Solis, which is so going to rankle her neighbor Gabrielle—especially since Gaby has to put up with all kinds of awkward sexual innuendo from the guy who wanted to tinkle on Carrie Bradshaw ... Edie used her spawn (who's clearly going to need Mike's therapist one day) to bait Carlos into making a booty call; she then called her son 'champ', handed him a cookie, and told him he'd be having an early night tomorrow. Classic.

You can read her full analysis over at EW.com.

  • Dave Anderson at TV Guide Online said that while he missed Bree it was great to have more Edie. "These Marcia Cross-less episodes show just how pivotal both the actress and the character of Bree are to the show. But I think you'll agree that the consolation prize is pretty nice: No Bree = more Edie! Nicollette Sheridan rarely gets a chance to truly shine like she did tonight. That scene toward the end, with Edie undressing in front of Carlos, was one of Nicollette's best moments ever. It reminded me of her classic strip croquet scene from years ago on Knots Landing. She still has a rockin' bod. I loved Edie slowly shedding her clothing, literally and figuratively giving Carlos the naked truth, admitting that her breasts aren't as perky as they once were and that she has a C-section scar. Yes, Edie has her faults—like not being the best mother and using her son Travers as 'sex bait'—but I'm glad Carlos gave her a chance (good move with the flowers, Carlos). So while we await Marcia's return, we'll get to enjoy more Nicollette."

  • Jen Creer at TV Squad said she found the Scavos boring, but expected interesting developments in their storylines. "Lynette and Tom, fighting again, yawn. But what is interesting is that their fighting actually seems to be leading to something. We have been watching Tom and Lynette grappling with each other, the revelation that Tom has a daughter, and their power struggles. But we really haven't seen any hints of being tempted to stray or any serious threats of infidelity. With Tom's ruptured disc, we are going to see the introduction of a new character, a chef who starts off his relationship with Lynette by telling her how beautiful she is. I am very curious to see whether or not Lynette is going to be seriously tempted to stray from Tom— and what she will do if she IS tempted."

  • While Jeff Commings at AZNightBuzz.com thought Edie was rather false and didn't seem too impressed with her antics. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Edie stripped down to nothing in front of Carlos at the end of last night's episode. And I didn't buy that whole 'This is the real Edie, without the flashy clothes.' Even her remark about the C-section scar didn't fly; those scars are higher up than the pantyline, so when she's in her skivvies, anyone should be able to see it. But then, I'm not a woman, and I've never actually seen a C-section scar, though I did see a C-section done on The Learning Channel, and they made the incision around the belly button."

  • There is also brief recap at Television Without Pity, where visitors have so far rated it a B-.
