Desperate Housewives fans won't have to sit through another rerun before the season finale - and if new spoilers are to be believed, they won't have to worry about a lack of plot developments in upcoming episodes either!

ABC recently announced that next Sunday's new episode, which was originally known as "An Unexpected Song," has now been retitled "Live Alone And Like It." In the episode, Lynette discovers that no good deed goes unpunished when she momentarily befriends mean Mrs. McCluskey. At the same time, Susan, still reeling from her breakup with Mike, is mortified when her mom - also now single -- decides to jump start both their love lives.

A week later, on the 24th of April, ABC was originally expected to air a rerun, in order to save enough new episodes to fill the all-important May sweeps. However, the network has now decided to air the one-hour special Desperate Housewives: Sorting Out the Dirty Laundry on this day. Sorting Out will be an introductory guide to the show, bringing new viewers up to speed on what occurred during the show's first season, and will feature all-new footage shot on the Wisteria Lane set. The special, which will be hosted by Brenda Strong as her character Mary Alice Young, was originally scheduled to air just before the season finale (story).

Following this special, ABC will return with the completely new episode "Fear No More" on Sunday the 1st of May. The episode will see Gabrielle planning a big party to bid farewell to Carlos, who is preparing to go to jail to serve out his eight-month sentence. Meanwhile, George Williams resurfaces in Bree's life, much to Rex's displeasure, and Susan and Julie encounter less-than-neighborly behavior from the Young family. Finally, in this episode Lynette is shocked to learn who Tom's firm has hired as their new employee: Tom's old girlfriend, who will be played by Melinda McGraw (story).

According to SpoilerFix, a week later ABC will air an episode known as "Sunday In The Park With George." However, beyond this title, which seems to suggest George Williams will still be present on Wisteria Lane, no plot information is yet known about this episode. As with all DH episode titles, "Sunday In The Park With George" is again from the work of composer Stephen Sondheim - it was the title of the 1985 musical that won him the Pullitzer Prize for Drama.

Beyond this episode, no Desperate Housewives titles are yet known, but Get Desperate! sources today did reveal several new spoilers for one of the final episodes leading up to the finale, likely the one airing May 15. Apparently, several housewives will run into medical trouble in this episode, with one housewife getting very upset when she is diagnosed with thyroid disorder - but not half as upset as another housewife, who intercepts a delivery to her husband of no less than six bottles of Prozac!

Comic relief will also be present in this episode. Gabrielle will run into the Mullins - an elderly couple to whom she complains she has no idea how she'll be able to do all the hard work in the house without Carlos around. Mr. Mullins quickly offers to help her out, antagonising Mrs. Mullins, who's already convined her husband does nothing but lust after the female neighbors. As it turns out, this has lead her to decide they'll soon move into a retirement home, even though they're only in their sixties - at least there, Mrs. Mullins will be the youngest woman around, and she'll command all the attention of her husband again.

Finally, this episode will feature a plot line similar to the one in "Who's That Woman," in which Carlos beat up someone he suspected of sleeping with Gabrielle, only to find out he was gay. In this particular episode, one of the husbands is caught by the police when he attempts to break into the house of a man he suspects his wife is cheating him with. The housewife says she couldn't possibly have been, as the man is gay, and attempts to explain to the police this was all just a big misunderstanding. Unfortunately, this only gets her husband into deeper trouble, as the police think he targeted the gay man on purpose, and arrest him for violating the Hate Crime Statute.

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by ABC or Touchstone Television, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumor. Spoiler information like this often comes from early script versions and some story details are liable to change before the episodes are shown.
