Despite having a re-run as its lead-in program, Sunday's Desperate Housewives picked up around 700,000 extra viewers since last week, taking total viewership to just over 25m.
According to figures released by MediaWeek, "Children Will Listen" scored a 17.1 rating with a 24 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 17.1% were tuned into DH, as well as 24% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm. The show also grew in the coveted 18–49 demographic pulling in a 10.9/26.
Grey's Anatomy continues to do well for ABC, growing slightly on last week's figures (which themselves were up markedly from the pilot episode). It's this good performance that has led the network to keep the show on after Desperate Housewives permanently (story).
Even with half of its evening as re-runs, ABC easily managed to beat other networks in total viewers and the 18–49 category. All in all, ABC was up 61% on last year.
