After what seemed like a resurgence this year, Housewives was dealt a blow on Sunday as its ratings dropped to the lowest point in its three-year history.
According to figures released by Zap2it, "Dress Big" scored a 9.7 rating with a 15 share. These figures mean that of all households in the United States with television sets, 9.7% were tuned into DH, as well as 15% of those households actually watching television on Sunday at 9:00pm.
These numbers were down markedly from the 11.7/17 that Housewives got with its last new episode on March 4. Reuters lead its ratings article with the fact that it was Housewives' lowest rated new episode to date.
Housewives has not had a consistent run of episodes in quite some time, with the March 4 episode the only new Housewives episode on ABC since 18 February. Questions will undboutedly be asked as to why people didn't tune back in once the show returned on April 8 and whether the show can rebound next week.
Although Housewives still won its hour, ahead of Cold Case on CBS with 7.2/11, CBS was the most watched network for the evening. Its 7.4/13 bested ABC's 7.1/12. It wasn't all bleak for ABC however, as it was still top in the all-important 18–49 demographic, with its 4.2 well ahead of CBS's 2.9.
Housewives lead-out Brothers & Sisters was also down, coming as usual second in the hour but with its 7.4/12 diminished from the 8.1/13 it received when last airing after a new Housewives.
