Marc Cherry People Guide,
Nicollette Sheridan People Guide Marc Cherry is offering two lucky fans a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the Wisteria Lane sets. Well, for a price. The Desperate Housewives creator has opened the sets and offered his time to raise money for People For the American Way.
The political organization, which says it is not-for-profit and non-partisan, "defends constitutional and civil rights and promotes the democratic values of citizen participation, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, and respect for diversity," according to its auction page at eBay.
The auction description says that the winner will enjoy a "rare opportunity for you and a guest to gain private access to the highly guarded set of one of television's most popular show". The tour will last 30 minutes, and what sets are seen will be dictated by what is being filmed that day. The date is also to be determined after the auction's end.
Meanwhile, in an auction for a walk-on part on the show, Nicolette Sheridan (Edie Britt) accidentally ended up bidding. According to 247Gay.com, at an auction to benefit The Trevor Project Sheridan waved to a group of fans and inadvertently bid $13,000. Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) and Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) then followed suit in bidding on the auction. In the end, two audience members (who weren't castmembers!) bid $20,000 a piece for walk-on roles.
The Trevor Project—a Los Angeles–based suicide prevention hotline for "gay and questioning teenagers"—also presented The Trevor Life Award to Cherry for his work in the community. He was one of the financial backers of Trevor, a movie that was the inspiration for The Trevor Project. "Marc supported the organization before there even was an organization," Sheridan told attendees of the event, before presenting him with the award.
