Tonight at 9:00pm, ABC will be showing the third new episode of Desperate Housewives' second season. Ahead of the airing, the network has issued an official press release on the episode.

Here's how the network described the episode, "You'll Never Get Away From Me:"

Bree's mother-in-law, Phyllis, gets her in trouble with the law, Susan tries bravely to accept Edie's new role in Julie's life, Lynette's demanding boss makes her miss Parker's first day of kindergarten, and Gabrielle and John meet again.

"You'll Never Get Away From Me" was directed by Arlene Sanford, who last season directed no less than five DH episodes, including most recently "Live Alone And Like It." Two writers are credited on the episode: Ellie Herman and Tom Spezialy. Ellie Herman is a new addition to the Desperate Housewives writing staff, having last season worked on Joan of Arcadia, and previously also on shows such as Melrose Place, My So-Called Life and Chicago Hope. Tom Spezialy is one of the executive producers of the show, along with creator Marc Cherry.

The following actors will be making a guest apeareance on "You'll Never Get Away From Me:"

  • Shirley Knight as Phyllis Van De Kamp
  • Harriet Hansom Harris as Felicia Tilman
  • Joely Fisher as Nina Fletcher
  • Alejandro Patino as Ralph
  • Rende Rae Norman as Mrs. Novak
  • Charlie Babcock as Stu
  • Harry S. Murphy as Mr. Lentz
  • Kurt Fuller as Detective Barton
  • Phil Abrams
Shirley Knight, Joely Fisher, Charlie Babcock, Harry S. Murphy and Harriet Sansom Harris are all playing previously-established recurring characters, although for the latter two this will be the first appearance of the season. As for the other actors, you may have seen Alejandro Patino last season in minor guest roles on House, M.D. and Arrested Development, while Rende Rae Norman has over the years collected credits on shows such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sliders, and Titans. Kurt Fuller has the most extensive resume of this episode's guest stars, having previously had a recurring role on Alias, and this season on former DH companion Boston Legal.

The title of this episode, "You'll Never Get Away From Me," is taken from a song sung by Mama Rose and Herbie in the Stephen Sondheim musical Gypsy. The song's lyrics can be found by following this link.

"You'll Never Get Away From Me" is scheduled to air tonight at 9:00pm. For ABC's official press release, head over to the Futon Critic.
