Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis), who recently tried to quieten tabloid rumors by confirming her relationship with basketball player Tony Parker, revealed recently that their first date involved her father.

"Everyone laughs when I say I met Tony in the Spurs locker room," she told Sunday Mirror. "I'd taken my dad to a game as he has been a Spurs fan all is life, and so have I. Tony was very shy but he asked me out for dinner and invited my dad to join us. That was it for me."

Longoria paid tribute to her boyfriend who dwarfs her 5ft 3ins height by a foot. "Yes, I'm in love," she said. "Tony is a wonderful, amazing person. He might be much, much bigger than me but it's not a problem. Love is blind." Longoria added that the fact he was a Catholic like her was also one of the reasons she fell for him.

Longoria said she is very pleased with her relationship. "Luckily we have been able to make it work brilliantly. Tony and I have spent all summer together. When you want a relationship to work, it works." And despite vowing not to marry until her 40s recently, she was coy about a potential marriage to Parker. "I love Tony, so who knows?" she said.
